Who we are
Billify. For anything on this page, write to support@billify.help.
What we collect
Your account name and email. The ledger you type in — bills, income, pots, debts, invoices, jobs, and any household ledgers you share with someone else. Your billing status from Stripe (plan, dates, whether you’re on trial — never your card number, Stripe keeps that). Basic technical logs, the kind any web server keeps, kept for security.
What we never collect
Bank logins, Open Banking connections, or a feed of your transactions. Billify is a ledger you fill in on purpose — we can’t see your balance or your spending.
Why we use it
In plain words, one of three reasons covers everything we do with your data:
- Contract — to run your account and keep your ledger working.
- Legitimate interests — security and fraud prevention, like those technical logs.
- Consent — for optional marketing email, if any, which you can opt out of any time.
Who processes it for us
A short list of the outside services that ever see part of your data, and why.
Sharing with a partner
If you and someone else both join the same household ledger, that shared ledger is visible to both of you — that’s the point. Your personal ledger, everything outside it, is never visible to them.
Cookies and storage
No advertising trackers.
How long we keep it
While your account exists. Ask us to delete it and we remove your account and ledger within 30 days. Backups that still hold your data roll off, and are gone for good, within 30 days too.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- Access what we hold about you.
- Correct anything that’s wrong.
- Delete your account — email us and it’s gone within 30 days.
- Export your ledger yourself, any time, from Settings › Ledger › Export.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
If you think we’ve got it wrong, you can also complain to the ICO — the UK’s data protection regulator — at ico.org.uk.
Children
Billify isn’t for under-18s, and we don’t knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. If a change is material we’ll say so in the app or by email. Questions: support@billify.help.
